To eat in bed or not to eat in bed? That is the question!!

George and I have this ongoing...Lets call it discussion about if its right to eat in bed or not. Of course my stand on it is NO! While he sees nothing wrong with it. He wants me to make it clear to anyone who has not been here about how small our house is. Yes it is very very small and our bedroom is right across from the kitchen. My stand is our bedroom is like a "family room" the kids are always in there with there toys and food watching tv. That room is probably used more than any other room in the house. So, its bad enough toys and everyone's stuff is in our room all the time. so I would like to draw the line at eating in our bed!!

What is your opinion??

so J ... what is the result? Do you still allow food in your bedroom?

I never really allowed it...I let the kids eat if they are on the floor watching tv.. but sometimes "people" sneak food while on the bed!! So I guess its an ongoing thing..oh well!! LOL..

Okay...I'll apologize to the other "people" who live in your house first and foremost. But......eating in bed is yucky. I've had breakfast in bed before....the gesture is nice if someone wakes you up with a tray full of food, but even then...it's awkward to eat in a bed (among the obvious reasons eating in bed is yucky). I guess if some "people" are going to sneak food in, you may not know about it, so you can't really do anything about that. I'd draw the line for SURE at turkey dinners though.

See and I was ONLY going to allow turkey dinners in bed!! Hmm..

A parents bedroom is their "haven". We all need our space. Children pretty much dominate the rest of the house, so keep your bedroom your own. Spruce it up with romantic fabrics, candles, lighting and pillows, make it "adults only" space. I'm not saying that kids should never be allowed, but it should not be their play space, snack place or TV room. Do I sound like a magazine article yet?

I thought I'd posted my 2 cents earlier, but apparently not. My response is NO! No, No, No, and I will repeat No. I don't care if it is kids or adults. NO EATING YOUR MEALS IN THE BEDROOM. This is in the same catagory as smoking in the Bedroom!!!

Carrie your comments are well taken, but I sure can tell you are a newly wed. Yes, in theory your bedroom (and your bathroom for that matter)is a parent's haven. Sorry honey, some of the best family meetings are held while you are trying to have a nap or do anything in the bathroom.

I beleive it should be ok to eat at least pastry and crackers and pasta and sauce in the bed as sometimes when you come home drunk and you are tired but really hungry. This way if you fall asleep while eating you are already on the bed. If you fall asleep at the dinner table there are no blankets......

OH COMMON!!! This is a No-Brainer...

Kenny you just dont want to leave the room right after you oil up your dink.
