He looks so cute!

It fell out while he was brushing his teeth last night before bed. This is his first one.

The tooth fairy left him $5. I remember her leaving me a quarter. Sometimes 50 cents. Talk about inflation!

He can stick a straw into his mouth without having to open it.

WOW, he lost his first tooth at such a late age, right? I just realized that and came back to type this paragraph, LMAO.

Brendon lost his first tooth when we were in a hotel room. Jeff told him he'd have to wait until we got home for the tooth fairy to come. I said the tooth fairy goes wherever the child who lost his tooth is because Brendon looked so crestfallen.

So Jeff discreetly checked his wallet and the smallest he had was $5. I told him to give him that and we'd explain that since it's his first, the TF gives more money because it's special, but for every tooth after that, he would only get a buck.

So now that is tradition (because none of the kids EVER forgot how much the TF gave for the first tooth, LOL). We did it for Jessica and we'll do it for Jakey.

I also thought it was late for him to lose his first tooth. Jarret was 13 month old when he got his first tooth.. so i am thinking that has something to do with it??

You are so right they will never forget how much the TF gave them so I guess she will be doing that for the rest of his teeth and of course for Amy too.

He woke me up at about 2am to show me his money.. it was so cute!!

I am going to tell him your straw trick.. he will love it!

That's what we told Brooke - she got $5 for the first tooth, then the tooth fairy cheaped out and only brings a toonie for subsequent teeth lol. She's a bit of a freak though - is 5 1/2 and has lost 5 teeth already. She lost her first one over a year ago and I was so worried I had to run her to the dentist (so my kid has a freak for a mom). She's just an early bloomer I guess. This kinda scares me .....

At first I thought toonie was something like a comic book or maybe a vid of a cartoon. I thought, "Geez, they don't even give her money?" Toon is short for cartoon in AMERICA.

Then it dawned on me that toonie must be money.

Is a toonie equivalent to a dollar?

A toonie is $2. We also have the loonie which is $1. We have some odd names for our money.. lol

We call our money funny names just to confuse our American neighbours .... heh heh.

Jenn - feeling any better? I see on facebook you're not feeling so good. Hope you feel better soon :)

No kidding, do you guys get Loony Toons up in Canada? You know, Bugs Bunny, Road Runner.

This is cracking me up.

And it's good to see you're feeling better, Jenn. I guess you had a bad headache?

We do get Loony Toons up here.. I think that is where the Canadian government got the whole idea for loonies and toonies!

Someone was a fan of that show up here!! lol

I had a stupid cold all week.. then yesterday woke up with a stupid migraine.. i think today it is gone for good.. lets hope!

We are looney up here - I can attest to that one LOL but the term "loonie" came from the picture of a loon that is on our one dollar coin. Doesn't the toonie have a polar bear?? I dunno - they have so many designs for them now I just don't pay any attention anymore .... I'm a little looney myself.

Glad to hear you're feeling better :) Tis the season for colds/allergies and pukes to go around. We still have the plague in our house - can't seem to shake it. Blah!
