What a weekend..

This was at Spooktakular at Canada's Wonderland. We planned on having one weekend where we actually stayed home and chilled.. That's a joke. George called on Friday afternoon to say he got tickets to Mickey's Magic Show. So once the kids got home we hopped a but then 2 subways and headed downtown to go to The Hummigbird Theater for the show. The kids were pretty excited but I thought Amy was going to have stroke she was so excited. We got there early and had to wait for the doors to open she didn't understand why we weren't sitting in our seats. The show was excellent. All the princesses were there. Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy.. Everyone. Oh ya, the magic part was cool too..lol. I brought my camera to take pictures but was told that Disney would confiscate the cameras if they caught anyone taking pictures. So unfortunately none to show.

So then yesterday we headed to Spooktakular with the kids in their costumes. Jarret is a Ninja (again) and Amy is Sleeping Beauty. They had all the kids rides going and as you can see from the above pictures they met a lot of characters from some of their favorite shows. We arrived at 11am and left at 430pm.. We were all very exhausted. We had a very good weekend.

George is heading off to The Raptors game tonight. A guy from his office had a ticket but couldn't make it. So he offered it to George to take Jarret.. But he cant find his ticket. So they are trying to figure out something so Jarret can go. They will be in a suite for the game. I hope it works out Jarret can go.. He will LOVE it.

Happy Birthday Jakey

Its Jakeys birthday today! He is the big 4. I called him this morning to sing Happy Birthday to him and as soon as I was done he told me all about his presents. And that he is bringing "muffins" to school for his class! Muffins meaning cupcakes. I was trying to upload some pictures of him but for some reason I can not. So if I can later I will. So.. Have a good day Jakey.. Love you and miss you lots!!

Hockey Hall Of Fame on Saturday... it was fun.. Amy told us how bored she was from time to time but she survived



Jarret was so excited to be there.. I was a little shocked on how excited he was.. he is just getting into hockey. He LOVES the Oilers and was pointing out all the Oilers stuff..

And of course some birthday pictures.. He loved everything everyone got him.. so THANK YOU!! I checked on him in bed last night and he fell asleep with his Blue Jays baseball glove and Blue Jays baseball beside him.. He's a Jays fan.. (please ignore the ugly boxes in the background.. we are still trying to organize our house... )

Happy Birthday Jarret

Jarret is 7 (well on Sunday just wanted to post tonight). In a lot of ways I cant believe he is 7 and then I think OMG.. He's only 7?? He is such a good kid. He is funny, caring, smart, sensitive, creative, cuddly, shy, but very chatty with people he knows, and a mamma's boy. I cant help but baby him sometimes. George is always after me cause I do more than I should for him and he is in grade 2. I am doing my best to cut the apron strings its hard though. I will try harder.

So we went to The Hockey Hall Of Fame today. I will post pictures later just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my boy. Love you Jarret!!

Miss Emma

Emma is the youngest Grandchild,Niece,Cousin in our little family, and has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. What a shock to get that news last Friday night. This is not going to be a long post because I don't know what I could say. I usually do have a lot to say about everything, but this time is different. I just wanted to say that all the way from TO we are thinking about you Emma.. we miss you and love you lots!! Big big hugs from Auntie, Uncle George, Jarret and Amy...

Happy Birthday Amy Vicotoria!!

I can’t believe my baby is 4!! How did that happen? We are heading to London then Marineland and will be there all day. We are probably going to hang out at Niagara Falls after because on Sunday nights they have fireworks over the falls. I baked a cake and we are will bring it with us and have cake and she can open her presents at Marineland. It should be fun. Its going to be weird not having a party with family. I guess we have to make our own traditions.

Amy is taking cupcakes to school today for her birthday. She will be 4 on Sunday.. wow 4!! She loved doing the sprinkles. For those of you who know me this is a first for me. I dont usually do stuff like this but let me tell you... its fun!! I am even baking her birthday cake for Sunday!! Nothing too fancy though. Next year I think I will attempt a fun cake. If I am still able to stay home then I will definetly give it a try. This staying home stuff is more fun then I thought it would be. I thought by now I would be going crazy because I would be so bored.. believe me.. not boring.

Sick girl

Sunday night we took Amy to Emergency for her Asthma. She had 6 Ventolin masks in about 4 or 5 hours and she was still wheezing. She had a chest x ray done and showed slight case of Pneumonia. So they admitted her. All together from the time we arrived on Sunday to the time we left on Monday she had 9 Ventolin masks. Still wheezing but they sent us home. We left with 4 prescriptions. She is still pretty crappy today. I don't think she will end up in school today again. Maybe she will stay home all week.. I don't know yet.

This is not the greatest picture but it was taken with Georges cell phone. She was so good. We watched movies and did some crafts and colored. She was pretty upset when I told her we got to go home. She sais next time we come here when I am sick we will color again..lol.

I just hope she is feeling better by her birthday on Sunday. On another note.. George and I have some new .. I guess you could say rules in our house. There is way to much TV being watched by both kids. I told Jarret after school is homework first and maybe 1 show and that's it for the night. He has to concentrate on school work. He is finding this year difficult. His class is 100% French.. No English is spoken. All his homework is in French and he gets frustrated very easily. So we have to concentrate on his work with no distractions. We will definitely speak with the teacher at parent teacher time to see if keeping him in French Immersion is still an option. I would like him to stay in it .. But I don't want to see him miserable and falling behind. I think the no more TV rule or me and George at least monitoring how much they both watch will help.

So that's that for now..

Not much to post this past week. The kids are both getting settled in school. George is very very busy at work.. he will probably not be home much in the next month. I am still waiting for my EI. Its been about 6 weeks and we kinda need the money. Amy is sick. She woke up today at 7am coughing that asthma cough. She didnt want to go back to bed but she is now sleeping on the couch. We dont have an Ontario Health Card yet. I need the kids Birth Certificate to get theirs. I am waiting for them to come in the mail. I was told by Ontario Health that the Ontario will just bill Manitoba if any of us gets sick and we go to a doctor or hospital 3 months after we have lived here. So we have until November 1st. Its been a while since she has had an asthma attack. I guess she is due for one. Its been pretty wet the last few days.. so that would explain why she is having problems.

The Blue Man Group

Went to see The Blue Man Group on Sunday. What an amazing show. Amy was too scared to get in the picture. The Blue Man just scooped Jarret up.

George and I decided next weekend will be a quiet one. We have been going non stop since we moved out here. Don't get me wrong.. Loving it and loving all the stuff we have been doing. Just need a relaxing weekend. George is going to be busy next month with work. His office is doing MAJOR renovation. The kids and I will most likely be on our own in the evenings for the month of October. Both of their birthdays are in October so that will keep us busy. That's about it for now..

Junior Kindergarten

First day of Junior Kindergarten. She was so excited. When we got there she was in line and she gave me a hug and kiss and said good bye to me. The teacher wasn't even there yet and the door was still closed. I asked her if it was ok for me to wait to meet her teacher before I go.. She said that was ok..lol. I had some weird emotions going on. Kinda happy kinda sad. Sad cause my baby is starting school.. And happy cause my baby is starting school. Make any sense? It does to me (Char I'm sure you understand what I'm talking about too).

I have been on the fence about having another baby for quite some time now. George is pretty adamant about us having no more but I just couldn't come to that yet. After today I am really really really close to joining him. Its nice having both kids in school. I cant imagine starting all over again. Don't get me wrong.. love babies.. love my kids.. But man its nice to have some time to myself. I am not doing much this afternoon I made myself some coffee.. And soaking in the quiet. For those of you out there that know Amy you understand what I am talking about!

I cant wait to pick her up and hear all about her day. I'm sure she will have lots to tell me.

Virgin Festival

What a weekend! We are all so tired but it was worth it. We had such a good time. I wish Jarret could have coffee he sure needed a boot this morning. The concerts were good.. the food was good.. the kids were amazing!! What a beautiful place Toronto Island is. I cant wait until next summer to go to the beach there. Jarret and I had VIP passes. That was kinda cool. Mind you we couldn't go into any of the spots for VIP's because no kids were allowed but it was cool just having the passes. Amy and I got free t-shirts on the way out of the Festival last night. She won batteries at one of the boothes and man was she excited!! She jumped up and down!! Good times!!!!

So we survived the first week of school. Wow did that go by fast. Jarrets first day on the school bus was today, that was a little nerve racking. But we got through it. We are heading to Toronto Island tomorrow for the Virgin festival. George has to work it and we got passes.. Should be good times. Did everyone out there know Toronto had an Island?? Lol.. I sure didn't. We get to go on a Ferry. I haven't been on a Ferry since I was little and we were in BC. I remember sitting with my Baba on deck of the boat watching the water and me making horn noise like the Ferry. Well that's that. I will take lots of pictures.. Until then.. Everyone have an awesome weekend!!

We went to the Air Show on Sunday.. here are a few pics. It was really foggy out so the pics of the planes and the Fire Boat aren't the greatest. We were sitting there for 5 hours. I love the pics of them eating their hotdogs. It was a good day.

Jarrets first day of school yesterday went well he said. Jarret is in French immersion. And last year the teachers spoke French and English. This school is different. They are 100% French in class. We were a bit worried about that too but Jarret said he understood everything. I will be watching and monitoring how he is doing. All is good here.. We are going shopping for Amy's uniform today for her first day next week. I am SO looking forward to that.. so is she.
