Its been over two years since I have been on here and wow have things changed. I am no longer living in Toronto. The kids and I moved back home to Winnipeg in March of this year as a family of three. My marriage of 13 years is over, and it was very unexpected to me. I wont go into detail as that's not cool. I will be as open and honest as possible without being that "trashy" person revealing waaaayyy too much. Plus my kids may stumble across this so I will be as diplomatic as possible. Anyway... Jarret, Amy and I came home to Winnipeg via train. That was fun! We are living with my dad while I get my shit together (yes I will swear on here but wont talk smack about a certain person lol). Getting my shit together means I enrolled in school. That was not a hard choice to make considering I dropped out of high school at the tender age of 18 to work and save money for my wedding a year later. I am attending a trade school taking Administrative Assistant program and loving every minute of it. Its only a year long course and there is work experience included so thats a big bonus.

The kids have settled in nicely to their new life and made friends fast! I am very happy about that. I am happy to be near my family and my friends again. I will never move away again!! I learned my lesson.. twice. There it is, a very brief update on my life. There will be more to come.. I think. We'll see if I continue to blog.

My mom is visiting. She has been her since end of June and she is leaving next week. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by. Its been so nice having her here, there was no adjustment needed, she just fits in the family and our routine. It will be hard to see her go back home. I will see her again in August when I go out for my friends wedding, but the kids won’t see her probably until next year. Sad.

George has been in Winnipeg since last week. This is his first visit home since we moved to Toronto three years ago. Its his grandparents 60th wedding anniversary party this weekend. I think he is having a nice time catching up with everyone.

Jarret’s baseball has been so much fun! He has grown so much as a player its amazing. He tried his hand at pitching, and was really good. He hasn’t had a chance to try since, but I am sure his time will come again soon. He plays second base and shortstop quite a bit. He loves playing any position. He rarely strikes out. The pitchers have a hard time finding his strike zone, this is when being small isn’t so bad for him.

Amy is growing like a weed. She is almost as tall as her brother. She got her hair cut a few weeks ago, they took 3 inches off, you cant tell though. Its still long. She did get some layers in the front however, very cute. She is looking so forward to dance class. I think she has decided on ballet. She has been changing her mind on and off for a while.

Jarret has started baseball this month.. he is loving it. The second game (last week) he got hurt while up to bat. He got whacked in the arm.. he took his base, the kid on third came home so he got the team the first run! Sitting on the bleachers George and I could tell he was hurting.. he ended up pulling himself out of the game. I knew he was in pain when he did that. We got home and iced it and gave him some Tylenol and the next day it was better. He will play again this week. I love going to watch him. I love watching him not only play.. but watching him enjoy something so much.

We will be signing Amy up for dance lessons in August.. she is torn as to what she wants to take. Ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop! Her first choice was Ballroom believe it or not.. but the place we found doesnt offer it to her age. I hope she chooses jazz.. but whatever she wants will be good with me.

My mom will be here at the end of June and she is staying until the end of July. We are so excited that we have a countdown every morning on how many days until Gramma is here. We are at 26 days. Thats not long.. and my house is no where ready for any type of visitor let alone my mom! Gotta get moving.

Jarret and Amy have out grown their bikes, so we bought Jarret a new one (George too) and gave Amy Jarret's old bike. She was using her bike with training wheels until today. We took her out this morning to get started in teaching her how to ride without them. Well she was awesome! She learned how to ride in an hour!! I am not kidding you. It was great. She had one bad fall where the tears came and we sat on the bench for a bit.. but she got right back on and wouldn't give up. She is a bit shaky starting by herself.. but she can do it. It was great to watch!

We bought her some pink streamers since she is stuck with a boys hand me down bike. They will go on next time we head out. We didn't want them getting wrecked if she fell on them while learning. No worries about that now.

I have set a goal for myself.. I want to ride to and from work one day. According to Google maps from home to work is 16km! I hope I can do it by the end of May. I don't want to do it now cause I am so out of shape. I will work my way up to it. I will do it on a Friday as its casual on Fridays and my hair will be flat from my helmet and I will have my work clothes in my backpack.. I would rather have jeans in there then dress clothes. I need to get into shape for summer.. especially for Jen's wedding in August.

So its been a while.. again. I never know if anyone reads this or not so I have not been updating. I feel as if I am posting just for myself.. which I guess isn't a bad thing. Anytime I am trying to remember when we did something I can just go in my archives and there it is!

Last time I was on here it was January. Since then George and I celebrated our 11 year wedding anniversary.. I celebrated my 31st (BARF) birthday and I was in Winnipeg for my moms 60th birthday. So its been a busy few months.

The kids are getting big.. and excited for spring. Jarret will be playing baseball this year for the first time and he cant wait. Amy will be taking dancing, she is torn between Jazz and Ballet. I am hoping she chooses Jazz, I took Jazz for 7 years and LOVED it. I think it would suite her personality more.. but of course whatever she chooses will be great. I think she likes the idea of wearing a tutu!

They both brought home their report cards this week.. and they were great. Miss Amy improved in all areas and received A's and B's! Very proud of her. Jarret's report card was good.. he got B's and C's.. there are a few things to work on but very proud of him too.

I will be in Winnipeg in August for my friends wedding! I have the honor of being one of her bridesmaids! We have known each other since we were 4! That's what... 27 years? Wow.

I am home from work today to look after Jarret. I got a call from his school yesterday to come get him cause he was throwing up. Poor kid. Nothing worse then throwing up at school.. i remember it all to well myself. Anyway.. I had to call in today .. I HATE calling in sick for work.. especially at a new job, but I had no choice.

I PVR'd the Inauguration yesterday. I taped from 10am to 4pm.. didn't want to miss any of this historic day. It was amazing. Jarret was on the couch and watched it with me. He watched the debates with me this past fall so it was only fitting that he watch Obama being sworn in.

There isn't much happening around here, so not much for me to say.

Its been a while so where do I start?

Lets see..

October:
Amy turned 6 (cant believe my baby is 6!!) She asked for a heart shaped cake which George obliged. It turned out great!

Jarret had his 9th bday (umm.. I have a 9 year old.. when did that happen??) He sure acts like a 9 year old boy.. toilet humor is so funny to him.

I got a job! It is going very well. I am the Marketing Coordinator and Receptionist for a health benefit company. I am learning so much every day and actually enjoying a job. That has never really happened to me before. I have liked the people I work with in other jobs, but the actual job has always been so so. Things are good.

Halloween was of course a good time. Jarret went out as a Leafs Fan and Amy was a black cat. They looked cute.

November:
Not too much happened just me trying to adjust to the new job and to our new routine.

December:
The kids both got amazing report cards. This is Amy's first real report card for French Immerison and she is loving it, and her grades are awesome to show for it. Their parent teacher went very well too. Their teachers had nothing but nice things to say about them. They both have a few things to work on but nothing to worry about. So proud of both of my kiddos.

My dad is in for Christmas. He arrived on the 20th and is here until the new year. It has been very nice to have him here. The kids are getting to know their grandpa and he is getting to know his grandchildren.

When I found out my dad was coming for Christmas I wanted to put on a Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner for him and was trying to find a Ukrainian store to buy what I needed. George stepped up and made home made perogies and sourkrought buns for my Ukrainian Christmas Eve dinner. He did such an amazing job on them. Delicious. What a good man I am married to.

We are heading to a Marlies game this afternoon, they are playing the Manitoba Moose so we will have some rivalry. Jarret always cheers for The Moose when they play Toronto, so him and Grandpa can sit together lol.

We went bowling last night. That was so much fun.

I go back to work tomorrow. It is going to be so hard to get back to the swing of things. George has been off since the 19th and doesn't need to go back until the new year.

I think I covered almost everything. I will try not to wait so long to post again. I never think anyone reads this, but apparently you do :).

Last week until school starts. I cant believe how fast this summer went by. It probably didnt help that we were childless for 5 weeks and just got back to TO. Amy is excited for grade 1 and Jarret says he isnt excited but I think he will be happy to see all his friends again.

So we went to Vegas and it was amazing. I will post some pictures later as I am not in Toronto I am in Winnipeg. I cant believe how fast that month went by with the kids out here. I was very happy to see them and I think they were happy to see me.

When I came down the escalators to see my kids I also saw my sister and her kids.. my brother and sister in law and their kids my mom and my gramma!! What a welcome I received!! I met my niece Anna and man is she beautiful!! She let me carry her around pretty much all day and she fell a sleep on me. She knows how to make her Auntie happy :)

Kelsey left that afternoon on her trip with her dad so unfortunately I only had a few hours with her which I am glad I did but I wish she was here longer.

The first week they stayed with Chris and Denise. This week they are with Char and Kenny.

I have talked to the kids every day since they have been gone. They are having a really good time. No time for being homesick which is great. I love they have this time to bond with their cousins. This trip was well needed.

George and I have been pretty busy since they left and he got back from his second business trip to Hawaii. It is strange without the kids around.. but I am so glad they are having so much fun.

My official last day of work is August 1st and i will be heading to Winnipeg for a 2 week visit and to bring the kids home August 21st. Cant wait for my visit with everyone.

Oh yeah.. George and I are going to Las Vegas on Saturday for a few days. I have holiday's next week. This will be our first trip together. No kidding. Very excited!!

My mom arrived last Wednesday, it is so nice to have her around. She is only here until Thursday and she is taking the kids with her back to Winnipeg. They are so looking forward to seeing their Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and Great Gramma!! They will be there until August. It will be so strange with no children around. I will definitely miss them!

I had an eye appointment on Saturday with a new eye doctor. She dilated my pupils to check the back of my eyes.. well she found 2 dots or spots or whatever on the back of my left eye and is referring me to an retina specialist to see if i will need laser surgery to prevent them from bursting. Little nervous about that.. but she said not to worry too much about it.. umm.. ok if you say so??

I go back to work today after a nice relaxing week off.

My coffee is ready and my stomach is growling.. so I am off..

Yes i do have another child.. you wouldn't think that from the last few posts.. but in this situation Jarret decided that staying home with dad playing PS3 was a better idea (next time he will come with us). I let him have his way this time.

I am on holiday's this week. The kids last day of school is Wednesday.. and my mom comes in on Wednesday! Very excited.

George is heading back to Hawaii on July 1st to the 8th.. I will be without children (they will be in Winnipeg) and without husband for a few days.. whats a girl to do?

Today Amy graduated from Kindergarten. There was a ceremony with her class singing and dancing for the parents. It was so cute. She was so excited and she did a great job.

We have been dog sitting Cohiba for the last few weeks. Having so much fun with him.. he is going home i think today or tomorrow.

Jarret did awesome last night! He was loud, he wasnt too fast or too slow he was just perfect!! There were 6 performances last night Jarrets class was the first to go on. That was fine.. but people were still arriving as as you can hear in the back ground making a shit load of noise. I was getting so annoyed, but what can you do? The other "plays" were cute too.. but of course i am bias to say Jarret's was the best :).

Few things...

-Took Amy to the doctors last Thursday because her throat was sore to the point where she was almost in tears. The doctor did a swab to rule out strep throat he thinks its just a virus but he will only call if there is a positive result. I receive a phone call at 9pm last night from the doctors office saying he wants to see Amy about her results. Umm.. ok.. she hasn't complained since the weekend about her throat.. but sure I'll come in. So going today at 9am. Little nervous not sure what to expect.. she seems fine.

-Jarret is in a play tonight. Its to do with the Pioneers he is the narrator cant wait. I wish I spoke French so I can understand it but I am sure I will get the jist of it and just to see him up there will be AWESOME.

-Jarrets 3rd tooth finally fell out. Now he has a nice big hole in his mouth.. cute stuff!!

-Still no word on work. Waiting to get my letter to tell me when my last day is, just would like to know .. you know?

-George is going to Hawaii in 2 weeks for 2 weeks for work. Very excited for him but I am a bit jealous lol.

-My mom comes to Toronto at the end of June to get the kids to bring them back to Winnipeg. They are so looking forward to their visit with everyone!

I said above I took Amy to the doctor last week.. correction it was almost 2 weeks ago. And they just received the results yesterday? Anyway.. the doctor said she has strep throat. He said the lab had the positive results 2 days after but they didn't send the office the results until this week. Thank GOD Amy wasn't in any pain. I have had strep before and it is NOT pleasant. Anyway, its all good. She is more upset that she had to miss school today.

Its the home opener today at BMO Field and we are going. I have never followed soccer but man is it fun. The atmosphere is amazing. I have never seen fans like these soccer fans!! You get caught up in the craziness its insane fun I tell ya!!

This is only the second year for The Toronto Foot Ball Club and for BMO Field. This is George's project when we moved here 2 years ago. He was the one from Ticketmaster in charge of getting them in there and running smoothly. This is his baby.

The game starts at 1230 but we will be there for 11 so George can be there in case of any scanning issues, which there shouldn't be since George installed everything :)

In other news.. I am freaking out off and on about the lay offs at my work but I know its not the end of the world. People get layed off all the time and bounce back. I just HATE job hunting.. I am HORRIBLE in interviews and the timing couldn't be WORSE!! Ok.. maybe I am still freaking out more then I thought I was.

Gramma Buddy

Its been 3 years since George's mom passed away. It was 3 years on the 21st. I didn't post anything the other day not because I forgot.. but it has been so crazy around here. She isn't forgotten around this house. Gramma Buddy comes up in conversation quite a bit. Jarret has more memory then Amy does, but we make sure she hears stories about her. She quite often tells us she "remembers that" when we know she doesn't but we let her think she does.

Its still sad to think that she is gone and missing out on her 3 grandchildren. I hope she knows how much everyone misses her.

George left yesterday and it already feels weird without him. That might sound silly but we havent been apart for more then a week since moving out here. I guess also knowing that he is so far away doesnt help. He went from Toronto to L.A then from L.A he was off to Melbourne. He emailed me from the L.A airport that he met some guys from Melbourne and they were giving him some ideas of what he can do on his down time.

I dont know if I mentioned this or not.. but we are sending the kids back to Winnipeg for the month of July so they can see the family. They are pretty excited for that. My mom will come out at the end of June for a few days and take them back with her. Now that is going to be weird without the kids around for an entire month. I have a week of holiday's in July and two of my close friends are going to come out to visit.

Saturday we took the kids to The Rogers Center for the Spring Fling. They have this fair for the kids all week for Spring Break. The rides were more Amy's speed.. there were a few that Jarret enjoyed.. but not too many.

After that we took the kids to the Marlies game. They played against the Manitoba Moose. The Moose won :(

George is heading to Australia on Saturday for work, lucky guy. So we will be missing him around the house.

Girls day..

Amy and I had a girls day yesterday. We had decided in the morning that we would go to Walmart.. when I was in the bathroom getting ready she of course was in there with me talking to me about whatever was on her mind (probably Polly Pockets or something) so at one point I bent down in her face and whispered how excited I was to go shopping with her and we are going to have a girls day out and leave the boys at home. I told her the first thing we will do is head to the toy department and just "window shop". Then I said we would look at nail polish and maybe buy a nice color for the two of us. She was grinning from ear to ear as I was whispering all this to her. Then she whispered back.. "I wont tell Jarret and Daddy" I said ok.

Then she shut the door and I heard her singing " I have a secret, I have a secret!!" down the hall into the living room where the boys were! Way funny.

So we went to Walmart and we spent a good hour looking at Polly Pockets, barbies and anything else that was pink. Of course we walked out of that department with toy in hand..lol.

She talked the ENTIRE time.. I am not joking!! I barely said anything, she was so excited.

So... 2 toys.. 1 outfit and a nail polish later.. we headed home. We had a good day. I thanked her in the car for coming shopping with me and for being such a good girl. I told her our next girl day out will be getting our nails done.

Good day with my Amy.. I have to do it more often..

PS.. i didnt forget about Jarret. I bought him a Maple Leafs tshirt.

I forget that Jarret is 8 sometimes. I will admit I baby him when it comes to certain things.. like chores for example. He takes out the garbage.. and thats about it. George asked me the other day when could Jarret start helping out with dishes. I said not now.. and brushed that question off. I guess its been mulling around in my head since.. and yesterday I thought it was time to show him how to do them.

He said he liked doing it, but told me he thinks he should get an allowance. We agreed that if he does some chores around the house then yes.. he can get an allowance. He seems to think that every time he does dishes he should get $2, and taking out the garbage is worth $1. Does this sound fair? I honestly have no idea..

Anyway.. he was very cute doing the dishes yesterday. We'll see how long he likes doing them.

Ok.. so it has been a while. Not too much happening around here.. hence no new post. I guess I can start with saying how incredibly sad that we lost Archie last week. The funeral was yesterday and I am so sorry for their family and everyone who loved him! I am also sorry I couldnt come out for the funeral. I keep thinking about all the good times we had growing up with that family. That makes me sad.. it should make me happy.. but not right now.

On the weekend I bought my self some boots. Not Uggs exactly because I am not shelling out $250 for boots thank you very much.. but the same type of boots but different "brand" they look EXACTLY like the real thing. They are comfy and actually cute. They are kind of like my Crocs issue.. where i think they are ugly but like them anyway... make any sense??

George won Leaf Tickets yesterday so the two of us went. It was my first Leafs game I was pretty excited to see my boys live.. they actually won.. so that was a bonus.

ummm..... so yeah.. thats pretty much it. Sorry nothing is coming to me here.. I will hopefully have something to post soon.. plus i am pretty rushed i have to leave for work in about 45 min and George is sleeping on the couch and I am on here not ready .. need to shower and get the hell out of the house.

So it was my bday on Saturday and here are a few pictures from that night. George and I left the kids behind and had a "grown up" night out. Let me tell you.. it was nice. I forgot how much fun it is to go out and not worry about if all the chicken fingers will be eaten .. or if anyone has to go potty before the food gets t0 the table. We met up with some friends.. I believe I am still trying to catch up on my sleep from that night ;)

I woke up this morning thinking its Kelsey's 13th birthday today..I am going to get up and put a birthday post on my blog. Well.. looking through pictures of miss Kelsey I ended up sitting here with tears in my eyes thinking about this wonderful niece I have.

She is an amazing person. We had so much fun with her the two weeks she was here this past summer. She fit right in with us. My kids adore her. Amy told me the other day that she wants to be 12 because Kelsey is 12. Plain and simple.

It our 10 year wedding anniversary today. We are both off today and tomorrow. We are heading up to Niagara Falls for some gambling and some dinner, the kids will be with the sitter over night.

This is the first time since we moved here we will have no kids. Its gonna be weird without them.. but good for us.

We went skating again yesterday. It was a beautiful day. When we got there, a hockey game was just about to start. The kids were just a bit older then Jarret.. maybe 9-11years old. They asked Jarret and George if they wanted to play. Jarret jumped to the opportunity. He was not the best skater out there.. this is only his first year of skating but man does that kid LOVE skating/hockey. You hear of kids/people being passionate for a sport or hobby but I honestly have not seen it in real life.. until watching my kid out there yesterday.

At first he was lagging a bit behind. They would all be on one side of the rink and when he got there.. they would be heading back.. he turned around and skated as hard as he could to catch up. He did really well. He never gave up.. he skated like I have never seen anyone skate.

At one point he went in net. Now this is where he shinned!!! He was stopping the pucks like nothing. Falling to the ice.. using his stick (poke check)and trying his best. One of the kids skated up to George and told him that Jarret was the best goalie they have ever had. He told George that they all go there every Saturday and Sunday to play and he wants Jarret to come back and be there goalie.

You know where we will be every weekend until the ice melts.

A second game started and two dads and their kids came and they all played again. They were so good with Jarret. The puck was passed to him and they all pretty much let him take it to the net and score. Well.. you should have seen him. He wanted to jump up and down and scream but he tried to look as cool as a cucumber. He looked over to where we were sitting and gave us this look.I cant really explain the look..it was a look of pride.. and happiness. Priceless.

Love my kid!

The only reason we left was because the NHL Allstar game was on at 6. We were out there for about 3 hours.

I cant wait to see him play next weekend.

Monster Jam is a tradition in our house. We have gone for I think the last 5 years.. well Jarret and George anyway.

This is the first year we saw a Demolition Derby and let me tell you .. it was the best part of the entire show!!! OMG.. George and I laughed the entire time. I am not sure if its because it was fun to watch or if its really as 'redneck' as it sounds!!

I had a great time this weekend. I am glad we (me and Kenny) surprised you, even though you cussed like a sailor ;)I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

Shopping on Saturday was fun. I miss shopping with you. I wish we weren't so old and get pooped out so quickly.

What can I say about Bon Jovi?? OMG.. so glad we saw him together (thanks Mom, I owe ya BIG time). That was so much fun. Who knew that even at a concert we could have our inside jokes and laugh like we were the only two in the arena?! My stomach still hurts from laughing so hard.

I have 'Snowman' on my desk at work.. and it makes me smile every time my eyes drift towards his teeth.. roar!

I don't know what to do.

Amy's Asthma is in full swing.. again.

It has been once a month since October that she has been like this.

She is feeling like crap.

She is fevered and her coughing is unbelievable.

She will stay home from school today.. again.. but I really have no choice.

I will take her to the sitters and if I need to leave work early of course I will.

My poor kid.

I honestly think this is left over crap from last month when we made not one.. but two hospital visits. The doctor who "looked after" her just sent us on our way with no Antibiotics.. or Pediapred.. which I know I should have said something then.. but why question a doctor?? They know what they are doing.. right?? Umm.. not this one I guess. I wont make that mistake again.

She woke up and couldn't catch her breath from coughing. She crawled into bed with dad.. and is sleeping.. thank GOD!

This should be an interesting week. Jaret is sick too. He has a nasty cough and a stuffy nose..

Man do I wish I could afford to stay home and not work.. working and having sick kids not fun.

Gross pictures.. and two months later??

The day before my mom came to visit George and the kids and I were out a a friends house for a BBQ. We had good food.. good company.. the kids had a great time, and I was excited about my mom's visit.

So we headed home at about 1230am and we arrived home just after 1am! Both kids fell asleep and George and I were waking them up so we didn't have to carry them (way too heavy) and Jarret woke up cranky and very sleepy. George was at the trunk of the car getting our stuff out.. I was opening Amy's door when Jarret got out I heard the slam of the door and instant screaming from him.

George and I looked at each other in confusion.. then at Jarret.. then back at each other and it dawned on us..

He shut the car door on his finger!

George rushed over to him.. and the door was completely shut on his finger. Once it registered exactly what happened I ran over to him and hugged him. He was crying so hard then he barfed. He was pale and he kind of collapsed in my arms. His eyes were rolling to the back of his head and he was so not coherent. Then he threw up again (over my shoes non the less) I had to carry him to the elevator.. and he threw up again. There was blood everywhere.. pretty gross.

We got upstairs and took a look at his finger. Then he stuck his head in the toilet and barfed again.

Once he calmed down George carried him back to the car and they made an emergency trip to the hospital. They didn't get home until 430am.

Nothing was broken.. no stitches.. just a nice big band aid and a disgusting mess of his nail.

So.. below are pictures of his finger the day after..

They are gross.. just warning you.. but of course I had to blog it..

The nail finally fell off about 3 weeks ago and its a lot better.

Why am I telling you this 2 months later???

I don't know.. just felt like it.. OK?

Jarret brought home his report card today.. let me just say....

WOOO HOO!!!!!

He struggled so much last year. He was in tears when doing homework most of the time.. He wasn't completing any work in class.. it was either he didn't do any of the work or he was just doing some of it. It was not a good year for him. I thought we would be pulling him out of French Immersion if things didn't improve.

He got A's and B's through out the entire report card this term. So so proud of him!!From the first day of school he has been saying how much he loves his teacher, those words have never come out of him mouth before.

We have parent teacher interviews tomorrow night for both kids.. and I am actually looking forward to it.

Amy also brought home her report card and it was excellent too. The reason I am not talking too much about hers is that this is HUGE for my boy! Don't worry .. Amy got high fives all around and lots of hugs too.

Happy birthday Gramma.

She wont see this but I still wanted to post it. She is so amazing. I cant really put into words how much she means to me. I miss her so much. I use to go to her house for tea all the time.. I miss that.

I call her every Saturday and we chat for probably 20 min at a time if not more. My kids adore their great gramma. They want her to come out for Christmas so bad. I cant wait to send them to Winnipeg in the summer so they can spend some quality time with her. They need that!!!

I thought Amy was OK after the doctors yesterday, but as the night went on she got worse. Her fever was 99.8 with Tylenol it was 98.9 about 2 hours after. She was in our bed about 4am and we have been up since. I am taking her to the emergency today. Her coughing is getting worse. I am exhausted.. my eyes are burning and my head wants to ache.

Yesterday morning right after the kids ate their breakfast here is how it went..

Me: "Jarret can you please go get dressed I put your clothes on your bed."

Amy as Jarret was walking out of the room to get dressed: "How do boys put their pants on?"

Me: "What do you mean? They put them on like you one leg at a time"

Amy: "Yeah but his pee pee is longer then mine how does it fit?"

Me: "Umm.. it fits.. it just gets pushed up a bit"

Another night at the ER with missy and her asthma. Poor kid.

I got home from work.. ate supper quickly and off to the hospital. She was taken in right away. She was given 3 Ventolin masks and some pediapred. We were there for about 6 hours.

She went to bed.. awoke about 1 hour later coughing (barking is more of what she sounded like) and i was in her room giving her more Ventolin.

Thank goodness I am off today because I am working on about 5 hours of broken up sleep. She is not going to school today. She needs to rest.

Tired.

I am drinking a smoothie before I tackle my laundry today. I only do laundry once a week at the laundry mat across the street. Not really by choice.. but because we live in an apartment building that is a disgusting dump and I WILL NOT go 19 flights down to the dingy basement to do laundry in a laundry room that by my 7 years olds' own words "its disgusting mom"

If my 7 year old has an opinion on whats disgusting and what isn't when it comes to stuff like this.. you know its bad.

I have 2 weeks of laundry today because last weekend we were not home to do any. I honestly don't mind the laundry mat for one reason only.. I get it all done at once. But it is a pain in the ass gathering and getting it over. Especially when only 1 of 4 elevators work in our building almost EVERY weekend. I get so mad by the time I get home.

Anyway....

I am pretty happy that I have had the chance twice in the last little while to go to a scrapbooking class with my friend K from work. I have been wanting to get involved in scrapbooking for about 2 years but never knew where to start. I have a bunch of supplies but I have no idea how to do any layouts. I am slowly getting the idea. I have made 3 pages and it was so much fun! Thanks K!!!!

Oh yes.. before I forget. Going into the 3rd week of school and Amy is already sick. As she puts it "my neck hurths when I swallow"

Also she said her stomach hurts when she breaths. Which in the past means she has pneumonia! So when I get back from my laundy I guess we will be heading to the hospital for a mask or two and an xray for pneumonia diagnosis. I hope I am wrong about that!

Amy was switched from PM Kindergarten to AM starting today! What a relief! This works out better for everyone except Amy. She is not happy about it and I don't really blame her. She has just settled into her class made some friends now she has to start over again. But Amy is Amy.. she will adjust with no problems. She is not shy by ANY means. I do feel guilty but this is the best for us and the babysitter. She will go on the bus with Jarret in the morning at 8am and she has dismissal 11am. It takes 5 days to get her on the new bus schedule so we will have to take her to school and the sitter said she will pick her up after school until the bus gets figured out.

Its falling into place.. I don't feel so stressed out.

Second year of VFest. It went by a lot faster then last year. But it was still as fun. The first 1/2 an hour Jarret won an MP3 player.. he was so stoked!! We were watching some bands play and he listened to his MP3 player.. too cute.

We are heading back today for day 2.. we are all tired but that wont stop up from going. We have an all access pass so we will by pass the line for the Ferry to the island and once we get off the island we can walk right in.. LOVE IT.

The first day of school is tomorrow. I am excited for both kids. I am nervous for Amy. Its a new school and her first year in French Immersion. I know she will be ok. But of course I am nervous for her.

We have her out fit all picked out for tomorrow laid out on her bed. I will braid her hair tonight after her bath so its curly for tomorrow.

I am hoping this year is a better year for Jarret. He struggled a bit last year.. but I chalked it up to the move and a new school. George and I had a talk with him last week. We told him all we want is for him to do his best and try, and we will go from there. I think he was ok with our chat. Lets hope so.

The above pictures are from when our Friends Gene and Paula and their daughter were visiting in August. Gene and George have been friends since Kindergarten. We had an awesome time with them.. they want to move here.. and I hope they can as soon as they possibly can!!

Up way too early today. I have been awake since 5am. Sitting on the computer waiting to get tired so I can go back to bed.. so far nothing.

I have been so stressed out this past week, I'm sure that has to do with my insomnia today. The kids start school on Tuesday. Jarret is going to grade 3 ( omg.. wanna barf when I think of that) and Amy to Kindergarten. they will be in the same school this year.

When I registered Amy for Kindergarten there was no option on AM or PM. She is in the PM. That is not what I wanted. I want her in the AM. I called the school this past week and left a message on the principals voice mail to see if she can be switched. I left a detailed message as to why I was calling and left her my work #. She never got back to me.

I have no idea what time in the PM she starts on Tuesday. I guess when we take Jarret the first day I will ask..and I will ask if she can be switched. I really hope so.. it would work out so much better. Also the bus stop for Amy is farther away then Jarrets bus stop. I don't understand why they have different stops.. that's another thing I will have to deal with. I have to call the bus company and they are so difficult to get a hold of.

I have to do everything next week which sucks! I wish I was home. I wish I didn't have to work. I am feeling so guilty about it. If I could have waited until Amy was in grade 1 to go back.. it would have been better, but that was not an option and I know that. Everything will work out.. but in the mean time it sucks how I am feeling. I guess I can go and try to sleep.. wish me luck.

The show rocked!! I can not express how fucking good this concert was!! We sat in our seats just before My Chemical Romance was about to go on. Now.. I am just starting to listen to them.. I dont know a whole lot of their songs but with the help of George the last few weeks he has been making me more familiar. Let me tell you.. if I went there not knowing ANY song I would definitely be a fan after!!! They were amazing. Love them.. love them...

Now to Linkin Park...

I honestly dont know what to say. For the first maybe 4 songs I was jumping up and down hanging onto Georges arm looking at him and yelling " HOLY FUCK!!!!!!" I am not kidding you when I say this was the best concert I have been to. Grant it I have never really been to "rock" concert before.. but still.

I dont know what hurt more that night.. my feet (note dont wear flip flops when walking around all day and jumping up and down) my throat from screaming, and my cheeks from smiling ear to ear??? So much fun.. so much fun..

So today is the day. We are heading to Projekt Revolution!! Cant wait. The weather is a bit chilly but that is good cause we will be walking around the CNE as well. Don't like doing stuff like that when its too hot! I get bitchy!

Its been a year...

So its been a year today since we moved to Toronto. The pictures are just some of the things we did this past year. I cant believe a year has past already. We have had so much fun.

This past week has been a bit hard though. I wasnt quite sure what was wrong then talking to George I realized I am a bit home sick. After Kelsey left last week thats when it hit me. I miss my family. I miss the kids.

I love our life out here. We are closer then we ever have been. I am happy here, but I am allowed to be homesick.. right?

I am having a hard time putting my thought down so I will end this post here.

Hopefully it wont be another week before I post again.

This past weekend I took the kids accross the street for ice cream. Everything was fine until we got home. AMy started to freak out and cry and was on the floor yelling that she had to pee and then she started to pee. She pissed all over her pants. Her pants werent just a bit wet.. they were soaked from the waste to her feet, there was a huge puddle in my living room and all the way down the hall in the bathroom and then she sat on the toilet and peed some more. I was so mad. I asked her why she didnt go before we went to get ice cream. She sais she didnt know she had to go. Well with the amount that she peed how could she not feel like she had to go??? Unless she doesnt have the sensation until its the last minute and its too late??

Amy has had issues with going to the bathroom since I started to potty train her. It has not been easy. I chalked it up to her being lazy and just not wanting to "miss out" on any fun. But there are times when I randomly put her on the toilet.. she argues that she doesn't have to go then pisses like a race horse.

I have been looking on the Internet to see if I can find anything about lack of sensation to urinate in children. I have found a few things and they lead to bladder infections. She has had one in the past. I will be taking her to the doctor to get tested. I will probably try tomorrow. I can't go today. There is a walk in across the street if they cant take her then I will call her doctor. The only thing with him he is in his office only 3 times a week and at certain times. Very inconvenient.

Any ideas?? Help!

Tomorrow night we head to Canadian Idol for the live show! I cant tell you how excited I am. Actually we all are excited. We headed to the dollar store today and bought some poster paper, some markers and some glitter glue and the kids are making the signs right now. I will take pictures of them holding the signs.

Kelsey has been here since last Thursday and we have been on the go ever since. We went to Canada's Wonderland yesterday from 945am to 10pm! OMG.. we were all dead by the time we got home. I got burnt on my arms and chest, but we had a good time.

George took Kelsey and the kids up the CN Tower today while I was at work and then took them to Much Music. So they had a bit of a busy day.

Let me tell you I love having her here. She is so good.. polite and just all around nice kid!!
